Ingatherings

On designated days during the school year, students are asked to bring in various items to donate to worthy organizations. Known as Ingatherings, these schoolwide events are planned and facilitated by various grade levels.

Ingatherings promote a sense of community and foster the joy of helping others in need. They also uphold the idea put forth in the Prayer of St. Francis that “it is in giving that we receive.”

Each quarter has two major Ingatherings—generally, Hunger Heroes and one other collection of specified items. Through Hunger Heroes, nonperishable food items are gathered and donated to local food pantries. The program was started at St. Francis in 1993.
