Libraries
St. Francis’ Crum Library and Technology Center and Primary School Library satisfy curious minds and foster a love of learning while supporting the school’s curriculum with the latest resources in all formats. Through library classes, individual use of the collections, book club participation and author visits, students learn to explore ideas and information and to use them effectively in today’s information-based society.
Pre-Primary (Toddlers) through Bridge students have a scheduled weekly library class in the Primary School Library, where they listen to a story and Primary II and Bridge students may check out books.
- Kindergarteners through third graders have scheduled weekly classes in the Crum Library. The librarian meets with teachers to ensure that the library lessons enrich the classroom curriculum.
- Grades four through eight use flexible scheduling. Students may come individually, in groups or as a class to select a book or to work on a research project. When requested to do so, the librarian assists individuals, small groups or classes with specific research skills or projects.
The Crum Library was recently renovated with new furniture, shelves and murals that help create an environment in which students can imagine and explore.
