Art a la Carte Docents

The Art a la Carte program is a robust enrichment for the St. Francis Episcopal Day School curriculum. St. Francis maintains 90 professionally trained volunteer docents who teach a continually updated curriculum provided in CD format. The docents teach 8–10 lessons throughout the school year, covering the principles and elements of art and helping students learn about famous artists, plus painting, sculpture, and architecture, often in a historical context. The Art a la Carte curriculum is included in the school’s standard academic offerings, and the program’s approximately 90 docents are considered adjunct faculty and must attend training in the spring and fall.

Parents may volunteer to be Art a la Carte docents by completing and submitting the St. Francis Volunteer Opportunities Form during the summer months.
