Technology

Technology is always changing and improving, and St. Francis strives to familiarize its students with the most up-to-date software and hardware. Students are encouraged to use technology and computer knowledge to enhance their educational experience, to access creative expression, and to learn how to function in today’s digital age.

  • The campus has four computer labs. One computer lab contains iMacs and three labs contain PCs. The first PC lab is located in the Kinder pod, the second is in the second grade pod and the third is located in the Crum Library.
  • Along with access to the labs, all classrooms have access to portable laptop carts featuring wireless Internet access.
  • Every classroom from kindergarten through eighth grade is enhanced with a SMART Board, and Primary School has three SMART Boards—one in Primary I, one in Primary II and one in the Primary School Art Room.

Via St. Francis’ technology offerings, students are able to research, explore, create, design, evaluate and synthesize information. They are also afforded access to online programs such as SAT preparatory courses and the ERB’s Writing Practice Program. All of these technologies greatly enhance the students’ learning experiences and prepare them to reap the full benefits of technological proficiency outside the school setting.
