Congratulations Recycled Reseen Art Project Winners!
Posted 04/28/2012 11:55AM

Earth Day was April 21, and our art teachers celebrated with St. Francis’ first Recycled Reseen Art Project. Mrs. Arnot and Mrs. Chandler selected recycled sculpture by 10 student finalists from Lower School and Middle School for display at the Cornelius Nursery Earth Day Festival on April 21. From used objects like paper towel rolls, old tech equipment, and plant containers, our young artists created imaginative pieces ranging from pinball machines and cork horses to spiders and cityscapes. The pieces were judged by members of the local news media, and two People’s Choice awards were voted on by Cornelius customers.

Congratulations to the following Lower School artists:

First Place: Michael Rosenberg, fourth grade, Cork Horse
Second Place: Daniela Contreras, second grade, Medicine Man
People’s Choice: Mary Katherine Rice, fourth grade, Pinball
